This is our Everything

Frederik Subei's first feature length documentary for cinema was completed in 2023. The film is about the Guajajara forest guardians in northern Brazil who are willing to risk everything to defend their remaining forest from illegal loggers. A personal and at the same time universal story about a fight which is almost impossible to win. There is a lot at stake. For the Guajajara people their forest means everything - their life, their culture. Moreover they share the land with on of the last totally uncontacted people on the planet - The Awa. They are at great risk of extinction due to the high amount of illegal logging in the indigenous territory. Frederik spent a total of six months living with the Guajajara people in Brazil.
